Timothy Craig Harrison
Timothy
Craig Harrison studied music at Durham University and later at Newcastle
University, where he stayed on to lecture in harmony and analysis.
Whilst the largest part of his compositional output is choral music,
he has written chamber music and several solo instrumental works.
His most recent works include A Festival Mass, premiered at the 2005
Hexham and Newcastle Diocesan Choirs’ Festival, Meditation on
“Now Thank We All Our God” for organ, and New Eucharist
Acclamations for congregation with piano or organ accompaniment. Timothy
is currently working on Windhover, a virtuosic piece for violin and
piano. His music has been recorded on CDs by Norman Harper (organ),
Jonathan Richards (guitar) and Sheffield Cathedral Choir. He currently
divides his time between his work as Director of Music at St. Cuthbert’s
Seminary (Unshaw College, Durham) choral conducting and composing.
Carillon
de Matin (1989) was performed during the 2006
AFNOM festival in London.
