Riccardo Bonci
Riccardo
studied piano at the G Briccialdi Conservatory (Terni, Italy) with
Fausto Mastroianni and Maria Teresa Gregorini and graduated in 1997
with distiction. In 1994 he was awarded a scholarship from International
Inner Wheel in Terni, for his productivity as a student at the G Briccialdi
Institution. In 1995 he began organ studies with Claudio Brizi, and
in 2002 graduated in organ studies (again with distinction) studying
under Wjinand Van de Pol at the F Morlacchi Conservatory (Perugia,
Italy). In April 1998 Riccardo attended an intensive six-month specialist
course for Opera Repetiteurs organized by the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale
in Spoleto, and then worked for the same Institution as piano accompanist,
repetiteur, coach, stage assistant and harpsichordist. He has participated
in numerous master-classes and seminars with many of the world’s
most distinguished musicians. Riccardo recently completed his postgraduate
studies in organ performance, studying under David Titterington and
Susan Landale graduating at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
He won several prizes and awards during his time as a student and
was also awarded the DipRAM for an outstanding final recital. The
Royal Academy of Music awarded him the PIDEM Organ Fellowship for
the academic year 2005-2006. Riccardo frequently performs as organist
and harpsichordist, both in solo and chamber music and with orchestras
throughout Europe - notably in Great Britain, Italy, France, Sweden,
Germany and Cyprus. From 1991 to 2003 he was organist of Terni Cathedral
(Italy) and he is currently organ scholar at St. Barnabas’ Church,
Dulwich, under the direction of William McVicker.
