Timothy Craig Harrison

Timothy Craig Harrison - photoTim studied music at Durham University after which he taught music for fifteen years. He returned to the north east in 1997 to study composition under Agustin Fernandez. In 2002 Tim was appointed Director of Music at St Cuthbert’s Seminary, Ushaw College, Durham.

Tim is married to Rachel and they have four children. He juggles his life between his family and his work as a composer, conductor, and performer.

His music has been recorded on CDs by Jonathan Richards (guitar), Sheffield Cathedral Choir and Norman Harper (organ), who performed his ‘Carillon de Matin’ at the first Annual Festival of New Organ Music in 2006.

Forthcoming premières include a large scale setting of the Gloria for choir and symphonic wind band (26th April, South Tyneside Chorus with Bede Wind Philharmoninic), The Risen Christ – a sequence for choir and organ inspired by the work of sculptor Fenwick Lawson (17th May, Palatinate Voices conducted by Keith Wright) and an anthem for choir and organ commissioned by Emma Gibbins and the choir of All Saints Church, High Wycombe (All Saints Day 2008).

Christe qui Lux es et Dies (2007) was premièred during the 2007 AFNOM festival in London.
