About AFNOM

Naji Hakim - AFNOM Patron“What a privilege you have bestowed on me by inviting me to promote the work of a new generation of organ-composers. I have no doubt that much hidden talent will be brought to light through this wonderful project, and I take this opportunity to assure all those involved of my unfailing support and encouragement.” Naji Hakim, Patron, AFNOM

The motivation behind this project stems from a need to address the increasing difficulties and complications involved in music publishing at the present time.

AFNOM is designed to offer composers of organ music an outlet through which they can efficiently promote their own work. Each event exclusively features contemporary music – many first performances – given largely by the composers themselves or a selected interpreter. Public exhibition-concerts are a forum at which composers can meet with their audience, performers and other composers, sell scores and exchange ideas.

From its beginnings in London, the festival has expanded to include events in Finland and Portugal in addition to the festival in London. These additional venues increase accessibility for performers and composers, and broaden the scope of live events. The Festival Director would be delighted to hear from anyone willing to assist with the adminstration and running of an AFNOM event outside the UK.
